Finally, a diagnosis!! Schwanoma tumor.

Posted by Carol on 5/13/03 at 12:06 (118535)

After 1 year of too much pain and too much Neurontin, my HMO agreed to an MRI. It shows a probable Schwanoma tumor in the tarsal tunnel area. What do people who read these posts know about the success rate of surgically removing this tumor? Is the recovery rate about the same as for TTS release?. I may not have the right terminology, but I am interested in the experience of others. Is an MRI usually done earlier? I feel I could have moved toward a treatment plan some time ago if the MRI had been ordered sooner. I think that fiscal conservatism has held up the process.

Wow, you are i guess lucky that there is something there that could really be causing all your pain. I would bet that if its removed then you would be pain free......
