top of foot numbness and pain

Posted by Toshia H. on 5/16/03 at 11:35 (118979)

I have pain on the top of my left foot. It ranges from tingling, burning, and very sharp shooting pain, that sometimes lingers for several seconds and is very painful. There is numbness in the area in question. It is worst in the evenings and at night when in bed.

When rubbing the top of the foot with my other foot I can feel a small knot or bump.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you!

It sounds like a neuroma. I have a bad one (waiting for surgery) on one foot and the PF on the other.I have exactally the same symptoms. Again, the foot manipulation from the chiropractor over the last 5-6 months has also helped this a lot, although I think I eventually do need it fixed with surgery, unlike the PF.
