For a diagnosis of achilles tendonitis, should gel heel lifts be worn permanently?

The problem with wearing lift heel lifts forever is that the achilles tendon will shorten permanently. I would first try stretching if the achilles is tight or short. It maybe worth a visit to a physical therapist

Dr. Z,

Thank you for your information.

I will start doing calf stretches again and will try getting a referral to a physical therapist as you suggested.

I have orthotics made from a podiatrist when my diagnosis was tarsal tunnel. Is it better to stop wearing the gel heels and go back to wearing the leather custom orthotics?

Thank you again for your help!
