knot on bottom of foot in archPosted by LIN on 7/04/03 at 15:12 (123595)
knot developed in arch on the tendon that runs to the big and next to it toes. It is about the size of the tip of my finger and can get painful if my orthotic is positoned to press on it and I am on my feet allot. My doctor says it is a lump as the result of a vessel breaking and causing a collection of blood that turned into a knot. If it gets too painful then surgery is the answer, resulting in a cast and crutches for several months. It doesn't seem to warrent that right now but it can get painful and achy and I have to baby it for a few days.
What is your take on this.

I too have these knots in the same location. Can't offer you much expert advice but I can tell you that mine have grown to twice the size of yours. Not sure if it was wise to put off my surgery but now the occasional pain is too frequent and intense enough that I'm ready for surgery.
