Pain Higher & In Back of Foot

Posted by ArtR on 7/08/03 at 17:28 (123775)

I seem to have a symptom not mentioned on your site and was wondering if you had any information. Most of the symptoms and characteristics seem to apply but my pain is in the back of my foot not the bottom. It seems to correspond somewhat to your description of Tarsal tunnel syndrome, i.e. 7 o'clock from ankle, but it's the back of the heel. It's sensitive to pressure, i.e. putting my foot up on a table is painful.
Thoughts, Suggestions?
Thanks,
@

Art,

That sounds a lot like a problem I had. Does the pain throb??

Mine turned out to be related to tarsal tunnel syndrome -- a problem with the branch of the nerve that goes to my heel. (But I suggest you talk to a real expert about it -- a podiatrist, etc.)
