Coverage & copay for ESWTPosted by lee on 8/27/03 at 14:07 (128166)
I have called my insurance, BCBS of Michigan, which says that ESWT is covered if conservative treatment has failed after 6 months and its done in or out patient in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center, 20% copay.
So do you know what this means in terms of how much it might cost me out-of-pocket?
I've truly tried everything else and failed, so this is my last hope.

What type of insurance do you have? I teach in Southern Ohio & was just turned down by MedMutual Plus. (no ESWT services are covered by them) Now I'm back to just wrapping my heel with tape & taking lots of Motrin.

Our insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, although we live in Southern California. My husband's work's headquarters are in Grand Rapids.
