Do I really have plantar fasciitis?

Posted by Carol Ann W. on 9/15/03 at 20:35 (130130)

Approx. 3 years ago one doctor said I have bone spurs on me heel, and actually showed them to me on the x-ray. He did cortisone treatments, heel inserts, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory meds. Nothing worked. Last year, I went back to the doctor because my foot pain is debilitating. He said I did not have bone spurs, and that I have plantar fasciitis. He put me in a full cast for 12 weeks. About 2 weeks after the cast was removed, the pain became unbearable. (Note: the 1st 2 weeks after the removal of the cast, my leg was numb and weak).

Now I actually drag my left foot most of the time. The pain has become unbearable most days. My husband says I walk like a penguin.

What should I do?

Get to an expert ASAP. You may have nerve damage from the cast. Twelve weeks is a very long time to be in cast. Please act now. Thanks
