When will I be able to run?Posted by Chris B on 9/24/03 at 16:40 (130913)
I am a 30 year young male having TTS surgery on my right foot Oct. 20th. I am a competitive triathlete and I hope to compete again in early spring. My doctor won't give me a good answer on when I can start training again. Does anyone have an idea of when I can get back into the pool to train and when I can start running long distances? Or am I out of my mind to set early spring as a goal?

I had surgery Aug 21, 2003. I am still on crutches. Though I have no pain the wound has not healed well enough to start water walking. I hope to start water walking in another week to 10 days. Then try to start walking and maybe try shoes. The healing has been very slow. I can't tell yet if the TTS has worked but I'm hopeful. I would plan on 3-4 months before getting to the running stage after surgery. That is if there are no complications, which can easily occur. Good Luck
