Pre-tests for ESWTPosted by Yasmin on 9/28/03 at 07:15 (131402)
I've had an MRI scan done, and it states that I have PF. I live in the UK, and although a rhemotologist asked for the scans to be done (on my behalf), the MRI scans themslves were not evaluated by a specific person who deals with foot problems etc.
My question is I am seeing another doc on monday regarding ESWT treatment. Should I ask him for an ultrasound scan? I have the MRI report but not the film (I had it on the NHS, therefore I am not entitled to it!). Is it important for him to look at the MRI film (if he can read it) or will the ultrasound be okay? I have normal PF as far as I know, and no other problems.

Ultrasound pictures as well as the report will be very helpful for the practitioner to determine if your do have or not have PF.
I have been informed that there could be 3 or more places in the UK that are doing ESWT.
