step stretch?

Posted by Kelly on 10/03/03 at 06:37 (132036)

I have PF and my podiatrist states that stretching on a step is the best exercise. Is this true? I stretch on a very small step (that is all that I have around the house) and don't feel the burning sensation above the back of the knee. He said that the burning sensation above the back of the knee is something I am suppose to feel when I stretch. I never had this above the back of the knee sensation. Does this mean that the stretch is not working for me?

I don't recommend the step stretch. You can injury the plantar fascia while doing this type of movement. I like the achilles tendon wall stretch and or the plantar fascia stretch. The personal foot trainer is an excellent method for stretching. Use the search engine for each of the above methods
