foot cortizone injections and interference with surgery

Posted by LauraW on 10/13/03 at 20:47 (133910)

I have an extremely painful neuroma in my right foot due to bunion progression. I am now having inflammation and trouble walking. Because I had the same thing in my left foot and received relief with a cortizone injection 1 1/2 years ago, I plan to follow the same course for my right foot. However, I have also scheduled some elective surgery (breast augmentation) to take place in 5 weeks. Could the cortizone affect healing or recovery of my surgery?

Laura:
the amount of cortisone used in a neuroma injection is rahter samll and unlikely to have a bearing on the surgery you mentioned.
