How can I possibly live without Bobby Hatfield and his Unchained Melody?

Oh I KNOW!!!!

That was the first album I ever bought. I bought it for Katie Conrad's birthday party in junior high, and she said she loved it. I spent many a night listening to it on the radio, too. The Righteous Brothers were part of my life. How many teenaged crushes (not to mention mature love affairs) do these words bring to mind? Ah, this is so sad.

'Oh, my love, my darling,
I´ve hungered for your touch a long, lonely time,
Time goes by so slowly and time can do so much.
Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, God speed your love to me.

Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh, ´Wait for me, wait for me´
´I´ll be coming home, wait for me!´

Are you still mine?
I need your love, I need your love, God speed your love to me'

Carole - I can repeat those words in the dark, at the drop of a hat, with one hand tied behind my back!

Judy,

Me too, but not without a tear and a sniffle!

SOUL AND INSPIRATION

Girl, I can't let you do this
Let you walk away
Girl, how can I live through this
When you're all I wake up for each day?

Baby, you're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
Without you baby, what good am I?

I never had much goin'
But at least I had you
How can you walk out knowin'
I ain't got nothin' left if you do?

Baby, you're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
Without you baby, what good am I, oh what good am I?

SPOKEN: Baby, I can't make it withoutcha. And I'm, I'm tellin' ya, honey-you're my
reason for laughin', for cryin', for livin', and for dyin'.

Baby, I can't make it without you
Please, I'm begging you baby
If you go it will kill me
I swear it, Dear, my love can't bear it

You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
You're all I've got to get me by
You're my soul and my heart's inspiration
Without you baby, what good am I, what good am I?

Now those are some great songs! :D I always liked listening to the Righteous Brothers.

I have bought some cassette tapes in recent years at our Big Lots store for near a dollar each as they were old groups and most people want CDs. One of the tapes I bought was of the Righteous Brothers. I found two or three of the Oak Ridge Boys and some 50's tunes. I enjoy them!

What a find! I love Big Lots, and we have one close to my office. I think next time I'll prowl through their tapes, too, to see what I can find. :)

Oh man, my hands are hurting, but I have to get in my two cents worth! I remember listening to 'You're my soul and my Inspiration' while parked with my boyfriend in our driveway. We were just talking, of course, and we had the radio going.0:) Kids nowadays would just snicker at the idea that we had to listen to the radio but I might add that he had an eight-track player in his car, so he was cool! Although I broke up with him because he wanted to get married and I didn't, I never hear that song, or any Righteous Brothers song, without thinking of him.

Their voices blended so beautifully. I was so glad when the movie, Ghost, intoduced another whole generation to their music.

Okay, I'm out of here!

the righteous brothers, not yet big, opened for the beatles in 1964 at forest hills stadium in new york. we all booed and called for the beatles during their entire set. by the next year, i would have killed for tickets to see the righteous brothers. i've been kicking myself for 40 years.

sweet memories include seeing the Righteous Brothers less than a year ago in a very small venue at the Las Vegas Hilton. They were never better.
