Static electricity for pain

Posted by Sher A on 11/16/03 at 21:09 (137676)

Ok, I think I've sufficiently calmed down - it's been a rough night. I just got a sample of 'Bottom Line - Health' and saw an interesting thing to try for pain relief in there. The article says to go out and buy a regular painter's mitt and a 1 foot piece of PVC pipe about an inch thick. Create a charge by rubbing it with the mitt for a minute. Then sweep the pipe about a half an inch over the place that hurts 3 or 4 times. Then do the routine again or how many ever times it takes. They say that in a few minutes the relief is dramatic. I think I'm going to try it. Anyone else tried this?

What is a painter's mitt?

It looks like a fleece mitten with a cuff. I haven't found one yet at the usual huge home improvement institutions, but will check out the smaller hardware stores next.
