heat after icing?Posted by Judy B on 11/21/03 at 16:44 (138288)
Having read the thread about icing, I'd like some feedback. I ice only rarely, when i feel i've overdone the walking. And I'm spending so much time doing the foot trainer exercises that I can't face just sitting for a half hour. So I've been using a heating pad, with socks on, before walking, for about 5 minutes. Feels ok, but then when I was first icing I wasn't letting my feet warm up before I walked, and that seemed ok. It was only after reading this board, that I decided I needed some warming up.
I've also started using the heating pad in the morning after the pf exercises, before walking. I think I got that idea from Scott's book.

Heat is great. If you need ice for pain it means you need to slow down
