More about the MBT and gaitPosted by Dorothy on 11/26/03 at 15:00 (138795)
It's hard to tell for sure, but there seems to be an emphasis on gait with the MBT and the way they were moving and the implied advice reminded me of a book that I used to consult for back problems. I pulled it out so I could give it as a reference. It's called 'Walk Yourself Well' by Sherry Brourman, Physical Therapist. There are no MBT shoes in this method, but it is a method of walking and movement and looks similar to the MBT moves - the shoes would probably facilitate this method of movement much better than trying to rely solely on body mechanics. When I was trying to use this method, I think it did help. Various 'experts' called it a 'new and profound approach to treating and preventing structural pain...'
For what it's worth, here is another book referral for the foot people.
