Bunion surgeryPosted by Darlene on 1/13/04 at 21:07 (141985)
Having read many e-mails regarding bunion surgery, I must admit I had my
doubts of even going through with mine. December 9 was the surgery date and I am pleased to announce all went well. I took pain med every 4 hours for the first two days.Luckly, I have a good husband who helped make my recovery much easier and I must admit I took advantage of it. After five weeks, I am in a regular shoe(clog) and walking normal. I must stress that I seeked a orthopedic surgeon that specializes in feet and I have been very pleased from my first visit throughout the recovery and followup visits. ( Realize that this is a 320 mile trip out of town for me)
Just thought you should hear of some successful bunionectomy surgeries.

What made you seek an orthopedic surgeon over a podiatrist? A friend of mine also sought an orthopedic surgeon as well. I consider myself VERY active. How long would you say it would take you to run again? Where was your inscision? Did you have general or local anesthesia? Thanks for your time.
