On the subject of night splints - has anyone heard of THIS product?

Posted by Mark S on 1/27/04 at 18:47 (142986)

Saw an ad in the back of Runners World.

http://www.thesock.com/

I figured that if anyone has an idea pro or con, they'd be lurking here.

Thanks in advance.

My orthopedic doctor (whom I credit for much of theprogress I've made) did recommend this product, but didn't have any in stock. After that, it never came up again.

My gut feeling is that this product might be helpful , as long as you didn't really crank it up tightly (ouch!).

The Strassburg sock has been discussed many times on this board - do a search. One of the pods on the board uses it in his practice.

I used the Strausburg Sock for some months. For me it was not nearly as effecived as a conventional night splint. It tended to get loose and also pulled more on the great toe than on all the toes. This tended to stretch only one band of the fascia from the great toe to the heel.
