Question on Orthotics

Posted by Bruce H on 2/16/04 at 12:32 (144400)

I've recently begun wearing orthotics and have had some leg and hip pain. I'm wondering if there's any connection between the pain and the orthotics. Has anyone experienced pain using their orthotics? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated?

I have had people complain of this before. I have seen it mostly when someone wears the orthosis to long before getting used to them. Perhaps cut back on the time worn per day and see if that helps. The orthotics, if made correctly, should be helping to align you from your ankles up. This could cause your legs and knees to be angry at you for putting them in a position they are not used to.

See if that works for a week or so. If not, talk to who ever made the orthosis and have them check to make sure one is not higher, or thicker than the other.
