to the doctors

Posted by scottr on 3/01/04 at 11:43 (145716)

Do you ever get patients who say something like this:

'hi scott, yesterday while playing tennis I heard a snap located within my right arch.'

I seem to get this a lot.

Sorry Scott, I can't say I've heard that one before. I have had patients feel/hear a snap at the back of the heel at the Achilles insertion, but not in the arch. I've also had patients describe a burning/tearing feeling in the arch, but never a 'snap' in the arch. But I've only been in practice for 19 years, so I'm sure I haven't heard it all yet!

Usually the snap comes from the back of the lateral aspect of the ankle. The arch area is new to DR. Z . Are you sure that is where the snap sound is coming from.
