Could I please get some information on patients who have had stress fractures...

Should the patient be casted? And if so, for how long?

Should the patient be NON weight bearing and for how long?

A lot depends on where the stress fracture is. For example, metatarsal stress fractures are often treated via surgical shoes or CAM walkers and patients are weight bearing. Stress fractures of the heel bone do better with conventional casting techniques.
