i had surgery for plantar fasciitis in nov. of 03. it seems like the procedure has not relieved the condition. could acu puncture help? also have you heard about a machine called the 'ozotron'? i'm told it uses sound waves to help correct the condition.

Bill,

You can certainly try accupuncture, since it will cause no harm. The device you are talking about is the Ossatron and the procedure you're referring to is called extra-corporeal shock wave therapy. Our group used to use the Ossatron machine, but now uses the Dornier Epos Ultra, which is our preference. The unit we use is ultrasound assisted for a more precise method of delivering the shock waves. There is a lot of information on this site regarding ESWT if you do a search. If you email me at (email removed) I'll be happy to send you some literature on the procedure.
