Could I please get some information on patients who have had stress fractures...

Should the patient be casted? And if so, for how long?

Should the patient be NON weight bearing and for how long?

Thanks,

Amy in Minnesota

I have seen your notes Amy, but I think one of the pods will have to respond to your note. As I recall this stems from PF surgery, and although there was a long post about surgery, no one answered your question. What does your pod think you should do. I would follow his/her advice, unless you think there's a problem

Steve G,
Thanks for responding....My Dr seems to think I can walk on it with a 'boot' but it's NOT comfortable.

I was just curious to see what experience anyone else has had with this...

Thanks so much.

I don't have any experience with this but I hope someone who does, answers soon. It sounds like it really hurts a lot.

I think probably you should call your doctor Monday morning in any case, and tell him about this. Maybe he would say it is ok to stay off of it.
