Richard thanks for replying, do you think that the lump in the heel will go away, or is it there for ever? I aLSO HAVE PATELLA FEMERAL SYNDROME IN LEFT KNEE any ideas on that?

It is possible it will go away. Sounds like it might be a pump bump. make sure the shoes you wear do not rub that area. You can have them stretched or have material put in to reduce pressure.

I have had patients with the patella problems as well. The orthotics seemed to align them better to reduce pain.

What is a pump bump?
I have been to ortho consultant today, he said that the tendon has swelling on the side and that there is one growing on the other foot also.
He is getting me some custom made insoles with heel cup and is also giving me some night splints, and said he will review me in 4 mths shold i still go to see a podiatrist in the mean time?
