Can I give up orthotics?Posted by Lori W. on 3/12/04 at 21:59 (146834)
My feet are feeling so much better since I started recovering last summer after 2 years of diagnosis. I am a teacher and really have no pain or very little pain after a day on my feet (I think it is similar to people with 'normal' feet). I'm grateful for the orthotics, which I wear with SAS shoes, but someday, I would like to wear cute shoes. I'm not even talking cutesy that are bad for your feet, just cute (in other words, not SAS). Is this a possiblity? And if so, how do you phase out the orthotics?

Go out to your car start it, then drive to your local clinic, get x rays and cure the problem there, other-wise your wasting time on a dead in message board.

If one goes to http://www.APMA.org there are no registered members by that name (Bracket). About 70% of podiatrists belong to APMA. If a non-podiatrist, then could check AMA and AOA. The ultimate source is the National Practitioner Data Bank but access is restricted -- I will need to check on that. Of course, the name can be made up and this individual virtually anyone. There are a couple boards, here and ESWT that posters should know who the 'answerers' are especially if they use a title or assume an authoritative role.

I have not read the access rules but they may be prohibitive.

Does not look like an option. It is the most complete source of information but is tightly controlled.
