ESWT/Surgical evaluationPosted by Dr. Z on 3/16/04 at 10:35 (147130)
This is a tough one. There are so many different scales for measuring improvement, failure etc. In my mind I like the R/M classic scoring. I think it is fairly simple and focuses on the patient and not the doctor's perception. There is also a scoring system called the CMS that is used for shoulder evaluation that I just read.
In summary the method for evaluation should include two parameters. Pain evaluation and function evaluation. It should be very simple and easy for both the doctor and especially the patient to understand.
