broken toesPosted by darchelle on 4/09/04 at 09:37 (148619)
how long does it take a broken bone that is completly seperated from the other part of the broken bone to die? is it hard to set a broken toe with pins? Do you perform this under xrays or wait til you are done placing the pin then check the positioning with an xray?

It isn't hard to place a pin into a toe. There usually is open exposure of the fracture site and then insertion of the pin. In some cases it is possible to pin under fluroscopic viewing without any open exposure of the fracture site. X-ray in then used to confirm position of the fracture fragments and pin placement. I hope this is a clear explanation
