ESWT ReimbursementPosted by Mark C. on 5/04/04 at 10:17 (149993)
Hi, New here. I'm the clinical coordinator of ESWL at a PA hospital. I am looking into orthopedic applications of ESWT. But I can't seem to find any reimbursement rates for the procedure. I have researched the FDA approved machines in the U.S. and seem to like the Dornier Epos. If anyone has any resources on this I would greatly appreciate it.

If you give Dr. Jeffery Kann's office a call (724) 776-2488 I think they may be able to help you out.
He's practically in your own backyard in PA with several offices locations.
The practice is Tri State Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Inc. a fairly large practice. Since Dr. Kann uses ESWT I'm certain he or his staff could provide you with the information you are looking seeking.
Nice to have this type of information close to home.

Are you talking about Pennsylvania or Michigan. I though you lived in Michigan. Am I confused about where you live? Dr. Zingas practices in Michigan. Maybe this is a different Pauline

The group is a large practice in Pennsylvania. Dr. Zingas has nothing to do with it. He hasn't moved.

Sounds like you have a good source, but PA is a VERY large state and each part of the state is very different with payments, coverage.

He merely asked for a resource. It's up to him to make the contact and see if the information provide can be of help.
Usually clinical directors of hospitals are very well sourced and have their own connections. If he is looking for various orthopedic application information an Orthopedic group is probably the perfect spot for him.
Probably several of the major facilities can provide him with all the information he needs. A few phone calls should do it.

When researching coverage, we generally do so by procedure code and the procedure code for ESWT is 0020T.
