I had TTS surgery and my doctor told me the nerve leading into my heel is flattened. What does this mean, they told me all nerves should me round.

Jeff,

Your nerve being flattened is the result of compression from something, whether it is scar tissue, tumor, varicose vein, or just an abnormally narrow tunnel. That would be what caused the TTS. With me, I had some scar tissue, but mostly I had an extra narrow tunnel. My surgeon opened up the tunnel in 5 places - in both ankles - to relieve the compression of the nerve.
