Oh, it looks like it worked! I'm so brilliant!:D

I just wanted to add that I sprained my ankle a couple of years ago and I wore an air cast for quite some time due to the severity of the injury. It was great; it really kept the swelling down and helped me to get around. You can get one at most pharmacies.

Good luck!

Kristie,

I need to sign off right now but I will see if I can remember where I found some good exercises to strengthen the ankle. I did them with bungee cords. I ended up at an orthopedic surgeon with my ankle sprain and he recommended PT but I found these exercises online and they helped me a great deal.

I'll try to get back to you over the weekend. I'll post on the Social Board because I'm not a doctor!!

Sprains are placed in 3 catagories. Catagory three can involve ligiment tears, etc and needs medical attention One should generally make sure you do not have something worse such as a fracture. Remember the initial treatment of sprains with the acronnym RICE (Rest,Ice,Compresson,Elevation) for sprains. Two months ago my cat ran in front of my feet on the deck causing me to slam my toe (Birks) into a brick wall. I thought my toe was just a bad sprain but x-ray indicated a fracture. Treated about the same but needed to recognize it was going to take 6 weeks for that fracture to heal.
