Could this be Plantar fasciitis?

Posted by AndyN on 6/20/04 at 08:53 (153538)

I have been having foot pain, especially in the morning and after I sit for extended periods, for several months sometimes severe. When I get out of bed I dont even want to walk on my feet. After a while it goes away. It hurts the most right in the middle of my feet the worst. I just attributed it to getting older. I have heard of PF a few times and researched it a little and it sounds like this may be my problem. I'm not overweight but I am big, (225lbs @ 6'5'). I run 3-4 times a week and play basketball as well. It seems to be worse the morning after activity. Over the years, I have sprained both ankles several times so I dont have real good flexibility in my ankles or calves and I wondered if this could contribute. Also I wondered if PF affected both feet or is it usually one or the other?
