excrutiating pain in the foot

Posted by patrician on 7/07/04 at 19:17 (154809)

Dear Dr,

I have been suffering with this chronic pain in my right heel for two years now. After much coaching to see an orthopedic surgeon I was xrayed and it was found I have a 'heel spur'. I have been doing all the exercises necessary; had one cortizone shot; bought the inserts for my shoes and I can't get relief. I don't want surgery but, I need help with this incessent pain in my heel. I am a very active person and I rarely am sitting for any length of time..I've had to give up my running/walking routine but my life has to go on with the pain increasing...Any ideas? Please help me...Achingly begging for help.

Please take the time to read Scott's Heel Pain Book on this site as it lists the non-surgical approaches which are usually the way to go.
