Sadam's Bronze Statue melted down

Posted by Necee on 7/16/04 at 13:47 (155621)

Has anyone read in the news about Sadam's statue that was torn down when Iraq was invaded?

I'm sure everyone saw the pictures on the news back then, his statue was torn down, and they were dragging its head through the streets....anyway, there is an article circulating on the internet about it. Apparently an Iraqi got possession of the statue, and melted it down into a wonderful bronze memorial. It now stands in a palace there. The memorial is a US soldier kneeling, mourning the loss of his commrades, and an Iraqi girl has one hand on his shoulder as though shes comforting him. It's a wonderful sculpture. It will soon be placed on the base at Ft Hood in Texas.

Funny that we never hear about things like this on the evening news.
