Has anyone ever had a recurrance of Haglund's or bony growths that you know of? I had initial surgery in 1985 on both heels and I am having severe problems with my right heel again. Headed to an orthopaedic surgeon on Thursday and I'm scared about what they may find out.

A lot depends on if the bone growth is under the achilles or not. Also depends on the amount of excess side to side motion in gait -- doc needs to watch you walk.

According to my x-ray, there are some rounded bony densities in the soft tiddues at the insertion of the achilles tendon and at least one well corticated bone just adjacent tot he insertion of the achilles tendon. Whatever that means.
