nerve rehabilitation??Posted by Mel on 7/27/04 at 20:44 (156365)
I have been battling P.F. for several months now.
Visited my Pod this past week complaining of a 'new' burning pain on the instep area of my left arch. He felt there had been some irritation of the nreves in that area and gave me a cortisone shot, this helped alot, but 5 days later I am now feeling some of the original pain, not as bad though. Like it is muted.
Besides icing and rest, what else can be done when it involves 'neuritis'.....how long might it take for the nerves to heal and become less reactive?.
I have no knowledge at all when it comes to nerves and how to rehabilitate them.
Please respond...I don't want this to get back to the point it was at.

Several things need to be looked at. Orthotics-- are they placing pressure on nerve where it enters the foot (porta pedis). Also -- any evidence of TTS -- a nerve conduction test can be performed to rule this in or out.
