metatarsal bar on my shoes, hope it helps!Posted by m j schaefer on 7/28/04 at 14:03 (156397)
I just had the shoe repair man put a metatarsal bar on the bottom of my tennis shoes in hopes that it helps my forefoot pain. He placed it from the middle of the shoe and it gets thicker going towards my toes, so far so good. Have you put these on for people before and do you think it was placed correctly from my description?

One of the local DPM's in my area is a big fan of using some type of MET bar(severeal different styles) on people with forefoot pain. I get to work with them a decent amount, sounds right to me... the bar should look more like something shelfing off the ball of your foot. It should taper from the ball of the foot, back...so thats right too! GOOD LUCK!!!
