I keep hearing conflicting opinions. Do we want shoes that bend in the midsole or not for pf? Thanks, Tina

You do not want shoes to bend at the midsole at all...foot problems or not.

A well made shoe will only bend at the ball area. That is where the foot bends naturally.

hi,
(not a doc) but agree foot should bend at ball of foot where nature made it...not a midsole. someone recently advised me to 'twist a sneaker'..if it twists easily..its way too unstructured for someone like me. in other words, those old canvas keds just ain't gonna cut it. my new balance 879 passed my test, and feel pretty good.
