We have friends down there and all are accounted for...just a few downed trees.

There are two maries posting. One is nice, and the other one is not-so-nice. So everyone please keep it in mind.

One is 'maria', and cannot spell, and doesn't use the shift key, so people should be able to differentiate. He or she now has a new alias', 'bj', who has just tried to impersonate me in yet another nasty post to Pauline on the doctor board.

Perhaps you have enough information by now to ban this poster?

What gets me mad is that the doctors keep responding to him. The way he's treating people here, he doesn't deserve answers to his questions.

You are learning from what you observe and that is good.

As I have said I am in Texas. This week our weather has been really nice. Of course it heats up. But it sure has been nice to sit out in the early mornings and enjoy the cool for a change. I have been turning of the AC for a few hrs. My cats enjoy sticking their heads out the window from our sixth floor apt.
It is sad to turn on the tv and see what the persons in Florida are going through. To go home and everything you own is gone. How very sad. When I was growing up my dad had a house moved to a lot and it was remodeled. It was just beautiful. A week before it was ready to be moved into it burned to the ground on my brothers graduation day. I will never forget those feelings of loss. My parents never bought another home. That is as close as I can relate to a loss of a home or personal pocessions.

We've have several posters that play with aliases, they even post and reply to their own post of course using an alias.

Your observations are keen and after a while you too will soon see the patterns that emerge.

A simple example for you to look at is the name 'BLT'. There are few entries and by the posts and responses you should be able to make an educated guess who is 'playing' BLT. It's very much like watching a play, with several people playing several roles.

You're a beginner, I've watched this board for over 3 years. Patterns do show up. You saw them with our friend 'raymond' but some stand out even more like fluorescent colors and you can identify the character.

It takes time and attention to fine details. There is a lot to be said for experience and just knowing the players.

Pauline: I have trouble playing myself much less two people. Is there not some sort of medical terminology for that 'the two faces of eve'? what i see most of is people who are feeling good and then have a bad day and vent. sort of like being married. occasionaly i get fired up but not so much anymore. i recognize we all have different political, religious outlooks, etc. and none of us are likely to change the others mind.it gets sort of easy separating the real people from the trouble makers. as always the best way to handle trouble makers is to not respond but that is not always that easy when they press the right button and we all have buttons. we all have one BIG common denominator and that is Pain and/or the hope of trying to help those who do have pain. that sort of overcomes all the negatives that appear here and there. P.S. Pauline: My local spine specialist has been selected to go to Canada for training on inplanting the artificial disc. I wonder when he does his first one who will be at his side to guide him? My spine doctor in Dallas has done around 300 during the FDA studies so it is a no brainer for me as to who I would use even though having it done 300 miles from home is sure an inconvenience. I have not made up my mind yet but I am sure leaning towards doing the implant as I like the 80% odds on becoming much better vs a daily reminder of my back pain. Saturday I climbed up a mountain that I went up last year. About 3/4 of the way up I met a group of paramedics with a stretcher that was empty. A woman was suffering from near heat stroke. It was so rocky and steep they had to physically help her down. The last quarter mile is 100% rocks. My feet bent every way and ankle known to man and there is a lot of small jumps comming down and big steps going up. I asked the medics why they did not use a helicopter because there were hundreds of places I could have dropped a hoist with either a stretcher or harness and it would be a piece of cake. I was supprised to hear our rescuse helcopters (we have 5-6 in this area) were not equipped with a hoist.I have on occasion pulled up three people at one time on a hoist hovering at near 100 feet. This totally shocked me as we are a mountainous state where there are many places it would be most difficutlt to rescue someone. My feet were slightly worse the next day as was my back but you got to keep cardio fit one way or the other. My wife thinks I am nuts? I did have my cell phone, saved money on my car insurance with Geico, and stayed at a Holiday Inn Hotel last night.

Thanks for explaining this. Before all this recent stuff I only went to the surgery board. I think it's funny how certain people, especially the one who can't spell anything right, could think we are all so stupid as to not recognize he's using an alias. If I was going to use an alias I would at least attempt to sound like someone else!
