What are the primary causes of plantar fasciitis

Posted by lisa71 on 8/18/04 at 21:13 (158371)

I have read most of the articles on this website and have not found an article that really explains where this condition comes from and what causes it physically. And I still don't know what a heel spur is. I guess I want more detailed info. If anyone could give me a link or something I would appreciate it.

Have you read Scott's Heel Pain Book on the site? It is more complete than most things out there. If you have not done so, please read it and then let us know if there are parts of it that need to be explained differently.

Lisa,
PF is a stress and overuse injury. How it comes about in different people can vary.

I had a touch of it by kneeling and hammering nails in my deck with my toes bent. Some get it by long term standing on flat surfaces, such as teachers or home improvement store workers.
