Is my numb foot a "Life Sentence"?

Posted by A.J. on 8/19/04 at 17:40 (158432)

Hi, I saw my podiatrist today to get the results of my emg and nerve conduction test. He says the results are TTS. He says that my completely 'numb' left foot is something I will have to accept for the rest of my life.

He says that if I have surgery I may still have numbness afterward. Since Neurontin seems to cut the pain about 80%, I should just 'learn to live with it'.

I have an appointment with a neurologist but not till mid-October.

I am a 52 year old woman with a job in retail and I stand on cement floors 10 hours a day.

Thanks for any help you can give...

Since I am new to this, I thought that a nerve release was surgery (?)

Thanks for your reply, A.J.

You are right, a nerve release is foot surgery.
