MRI vs. CT ?????Posted by Shell D. on 8/24/04 at 09:59 (158614)
I have a question regarding MRI vs. CT in the case of PF..
I've had PF for 5 years, ESWT twice, open release on one foot and EPF on the other two years apart and every other conservative treatment known to man. Then my cuineform spontaneously fractured after the EPF. I'm still having pain in my mid foot after 7 months. My Dr. ordered a CT of my feet. Would an MRI be more conclusive or is a CT better?

The CT is much better for Surgical planning, if that is the path they are talking about. An Mri will show ligaments, tendons, joint surface. Talk to your doctor about his reasoning
