Best Shoes with Arch Support

Posted by Clara on 9/29/04 at 14:39 (160691)

I found an SAS factory outlet, but would like more choices for shoes with good arch support to wear everyday--especially with dresses. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis 3 weeks ago by a podiatrist. The pain is almost gone, but was told by my doctor that if I did not wear shoes with good arch support and place Dr. Scholls' arch supports in them, the condition might return. Can you tell me of specific shoe brands and designs with the best arch support? Thank you. Clara

Many shoes have no real arch support. There may be a little lumpy bumpy in there, but it is not good arch support. Dr. Scholl's are nothing but cushion. That is no support at all.

Many people here like the Birkenstock shoes. They have more support than most other shoes.

I would strongly suggest custom orthotics. If that is not an option insurance wise, check out the power step inserts.

Can the arch be lowered on a PowerStep insert?

I think it is possible if it is heated.
