This is different for each person. Scar tissue formation is our body's attempt to heal something. When the fascia is cut, scar tissue forms between the ends of the cut fascia in an attempt to draw the ends together, healing the cut. The scar tissue itself, can be a source of pain if it is excessive or too thick so measures to thin it and keep it flexible are advised: massage, therapeutic ultrasound, enzyme (hyaluronidase) injections are some options.
