morton's neuroma and ??Posted by sarahh on 10/25/04 at 10:37 (162094)
I have had this condition for several years, had different types of shots and orthodics and still no relief. In fact it has gotten worse. And is now affecting 3 toes.
Also because my job requires walking and pushing heavy equipment for 8 hours. Averaging 7 miles a night; both feet are in agonizing pain most of the time. My feet burn and have random shooting pain even after I get off them. The back of my heels hurt and when I wake up after a nights sleep I can barely walk.
1. What can be done about the neuromas? (Other than surgery)
2. What else is wrong with my feet?
3. Is there a medicine available for the pain?

I had a neuroma a couple of years ago that did not respond to cortisone shots. I did not want to get surgery. Instead, I went to an acupunturist for the first time out of desperation. After 4 sessions, the pain subsided and I was able to run again. I also wear orthotics now. Both of these helped me. Good luck in finding what works for you.
