PF Georgraphy questionPosted by Linda V on 10/27/04 at 08:03 (162243)
I was just wondering if the docs around the world have sort of an PODIATRY international link...or if there are statistics that show what countries have the highest prevalence of PF. Just like, in Japan, there is not even a word for menopause, because it does not seem to occur for eastern women there. I was wondering if its mainly the US that gets PF. Is it rare in Russia? Popular in Poland? Extinct in Egypt?

Great question. I suspect we have a lot more of it because our country boasts the heaviest people in the world and we are also exercise fanatics, at least compared to the rest of the world.

Good question. It probably would take more of a survey as oppose to a formal study to answer that but certainly a lot of international contacts to practitioners. PF does seem to be a 'disease' of modern man living in a 'concrete jungle.'
