Plantar Facia / Bone Spur

Posted by flymiller on 11/01/04 at 22:03 (162748)

I have been suffering from Plantar Facia for years.
I wear orthodics, which does help relieve the pain.
Current X-rays show a bone spur. I am very interested in 'Ossatron - Shock Wave Treatment'. I live in Fayetteville, NC. Can you tell me if any Doctors in the Fayetteville (NC) area offer this shock wave treatment?

Can you tell me the approximate cost, how many sessions is needed to take care of the bone spur. Thanks

I AM A P.T.A IN INDIANA AND I CURRENTLY HAVE A Pt ON CASELOAD THAT HAS HEEL SPURS AND PLANTAR FASCITIS. MY QUESTION IS DOES IONTOPHORESIS MAKE CALCIUM DEPOSITS (THE SPURS) GO AWAY? AND IF YES HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AND IS IT ONLY BENEFICIAL TO ACUTE CASES?

I had the iontophoresis at Physical Therapy and it didn't help at all (I ended up having to have surgery). The PT told me that it very rarely helps in that area because the skin is so think. Don't know if this helps or not but it didn't help me. I think it would be on a case by case basis.
