First PF then TTS then entrapped nerve... then RSD?

Posted by Michelle M on 11/08/04 at 16:19 (163267)

After a hundered diagnoses, I don't know what to do.

I have a super sensitive left foot. First my podiatrost said PF, so they gave me a cortisone shot, custom orthodics. I got worse. Then my ankle started hurting also and he said TTS. The ankle pain resolved on its own, but they did an NCV/EMG anyway which showed entrapment of the 'first branch of the left lateral plantar nerve'. The NCV part was normal. Two weeks after the EMG I can barely put any weight on my foot without extreme pain. My pain level has skyrocketed. I am using crutches.

Now the podiatrist said I should think about getting checked for RSD. But he doesn't think I have it since I am not swollen and my pain is localized to the bottom of my foot (arch and heel).

Any advice on what to try next? I don't know where to go from here...
Please help!

No one has said anything about RSD to me, but when my foot pain starts my ankle becomes VERY swollen, with the tendons sticking out visibly all over my foot.
What is it?
