Sorry, I should have put this on the Ask the Doctor site.

It is flexible tape that you can buy in a drug store. It sticks to itself

Dr.Z- I spoke with one of your guys yesterday they gave me a $2000. price for complete 30 minute treatment, I am interested but that seemed high. I found a Dr. Klein in Detroit advertising the treatment for $699. quite a difference. Especially since my Blue Cross doesn't cover it.

Joe W- Using your zip code do a podiatrist search @ http://www.unitedshockwave.com They are based in Chicago but operate in most states and have hundreds of podiatrist in their program. The web site will direct you to many podiatrists you can speak too about their fee. In addition if you insurance does not cover the treatment then United will not charge you a technical fee. They use only the Dornier FDA approved high energy one treatment method. No need for IV sedation- only a local.
Pauline: Please ignore this post- you have beat this kind of helping post to death

Actually, United uses both the Dornier EPOS Ultra and the Healthtronics Ossatron.

Who did your ESWT treatment. I forget. Was it in NEW YORK?
Re: Cobanvince on 11/18/04 at 07:04 (164236)
You didn't forget-you can't forget something that you never knew. I previously posted that I would not give any specifics about who treated me, where and when. This is information that is protected by HIPPA.
Re: Cobanvince on 11/18/04 at 07:09 (164239)
That is correct but they use the Dornier most of the time. The tech who treated me told me that all the docs he works with only want to use the Dornier.

This is somewhat inaccurate. United has one Ossatron that they obtained through Canada for use in the entire US. Unless your Chicago you have very little chance of using it.

Vince thanks so much for this information, I went to the site and found 6 DR. in Mishawaka Ind about 1 hour from me. I will call them all on Monday. Are they on this list because they use United's machine? Or is there some other reason?
Thanks again this site is great!

If you found them with the podie search on United's web site they use Uniteds techs and equipment. There may be a few that use the couple of Ossatrons that United owns but just ask the doc what they use.
