large bump on BACK of heel causing pain

Posted by Diane M on 12/30/04 at 07:55 (166297)

I have a bump on the back of my heel that is approx. the size of a quarter in diameter and approx. 1/8'+ in depth. The pain of a shoe touching this is crippling so I wear large snow boots when it is cold and sandals, or slides/scuffs in better weather. I am very active on my feet, in rocky terrain. What can I look up besides heel spurs that may be about this painful bump on the back of my heel? Thank you.

Hi Diane,

I'm no doctor but it sounds like you might have Haglund's Deformity...
I'm attaching a link that might help you learn more about it ..

Best of luck...
