Buldging disc.

Posted by Norm on 2/18/05 at 04:02 (169306)

I have had foot pain for several years now & tried everything & anything with no success. Just recently went through tarsal tunnel surgery on left foot as the EMG came back positive in both feet with the left being the worst. My pod painted this pretty picture of two weeks off work & you should be good. Well I was off 5 weeks & have more pain now than before. Several years ago I hurt my back & now have a buldging disc on the left side. No back pain anymore but was wondering if this is what is causing my foot pain??

Norm:
If the bulging disc is L5,S1, which gives sensation to the bottom of the foot then nerve root compression should be considered. That is a good reason to do a nerve conduction velocity test (NCV) as it can help distinguish between the two.
