Facing 5th surgery on left foot

Posted by Karole on 3/02/05 at 10:57 (170271)

6/02 injured heel on edge of steps/hairline fracture

12/02 Diagnosed possible plantar fascia/surgery l/22/03, Surgery #1. After several months pain returned/diagnosed possible neuroma/surgery to remove neuroma on 6/4/03, surgery #2. Not getting better/pain returns/
even worse than before, Dr. recommended another surgery to 'look' and
remove some fat pad.

ll/03 Another open heel surgery,(surgery #3) again with 2 months in wheelchair, 2 months using crutches. Doctor concerned about progress. Referred me another Doctor/possible TTS. Had neurological tests done/nerve damage diagnosed. Surgery recommended.

6/04 (Surgery #4) Open heel surgery, bone in heel drilled in 7 places to
release fluid. At first it seemed to be a lot better but now I am in
the same place as I was. Doctor doesn't know what is my problem, but
feels that there is something wrong. I going to refer me to another
Doctor for a second set of eyes. l/05/ We discussed all the operations
and the only thing that has not been done is to remove a bone spur.
He believes that I have TTS and have been told that there is only a 50%
chance for relief from this surgery.

I need some guidance as to what I should do next. This has been a long
and painful 3 years and don't know what to do.
